Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame makes history, creates new PNG box office records, beating the numbers of Avengers: Infinity War. There were a total of 7,305 people who watched Endgame during its advance screening last April 24 up until the end of its first wee run last May 1. Infinity was had 5,418.
The most anticipated movie in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and perhaps, the entire global entertainment industry, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame continued to live up to its hype as it smashed PNG box-office records on its opening weekend.
Considered by millions of MCU fans as the epic conclusion to the Avengers Infinity saga, Avengers: Endgame also showed epic dominance in the box office as it not only posted the Biggest Opening Day record, it also continued its rampage over the next seven days.
The film – which was initially met with mostly glowing reviews – follows 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, which saw many of the heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe banding together to defeat supervillain Thanos – only for half of them to be obliterated as he takes hold of the powerful Infinity Gauntlet.
The fourth film in the Avengers franchise and the conclusion to 22 films in the MCU has already surpassed the US$1-billion mark in the global box-office, reaching an unprecedented US$1.2 billion in just five days.
